AlchemyHacks is a two day event from October 4th - October 6th, where participants will work in teams from 1-4 to create a tutorial for a complex game we are creating. Additionally, we have lots of events planned - like tournaments, workshops and panels to enrich this experience. We are based in Ontario, Canada but this event is open to all high school students worldwide! Apply at the link above!
While you do not need a team to compete, the nature of our hackathon would make a team largely beneficial. There is a channel in our Discord if you are looking for teammates! Teams can have a maximum of 4 people.
Our goal for this hackathon was to have a specific problem to solve, with restrictions to inspire creative solutions, rather than just giving full creative power. The hope in doing this is to invoke critical thinking and inspire unique solutions. Your goal is to create a tutorial for an adventure retro style game that we created!
You will have to code, by creating a series of instructions that follow the limitations we provide during the hackathon. You will have to interact with the graphics engine we created to create your tutorial for our game. You can learn more by looking at our Devpost.
Any high school student from anywhere around the globe is able to submit a project for this hackathon!
Of course there will be prizes! We will announce our prizing structure closer to our hackathon date, so stay tuned!
It costs nothing you silly goose! Attending will be absolutely free, we will cover all the costs just for you, so you can focus on having fun!
